Frequently Asked Questions
What type of material is available on the platform?
The platform contains a variety of Self-Paced courses which are comprised of smaller modules. The individual modules can contain demo videos, presentations or hands-on exercises.
Which models does the training cover?
Our training library is continually evolving and expanding. We currently have a selection of offerings applicable to most customers.
What does a typical course agenda look like?
- Introduction and theoretical background to the topic.
- Link to a virtual machine environment where you can access the software.
- Guided hands-on exercises covering and application of the model with all the main platform features such as simulation, parameter estimation, global system analysis.
I previously attended a Virtual Classroom training, how do these resources add to what I have learnt already?
The trainings have a comprehensive list of modules and some of these are common with the instructor led trainings you may have completed in the past. The resources on the platform can serve as an invaluable refresher to reinforce what you have already covered. The training is designed for the most recent version gPROMS FormulatedProducts and some features may have improved compared to earlier versions.
What are the pre-requisites for signing up to the platform?
There are no commercial requirements. Access is not limited by what licenses your organization has acquired. Therefore, regardless of the license mix available within your organization, you can still complete any of the available trainings.
Does the platform allow working on a virtual machine?
During the training you will be invited to open a virtual machine using CloudShare on a new browser tab where you can complete the hands-on exercises.
Can I complete a training working over multiple sessions?
Yes absolutely. You can stop and return to the training to suit your schedule.
Do I need to complete all the modules in a training?
No, you may jump between the different modules at any time.
I noticed the trainings contain a post completion survey, do I need to complete the training in its entirety before taking the survey?
Not necessarily, your feedback is still highly valuable to us if you complete a subset of the modules.
