Information - Determining the HOSTID
To determine the HOSTID, execute a system command on the machine that you wish to use as a license server. This command generates a file that contains information about the machine's networking hardware and the internet connectivity. Review the content before sending it to PSE's licensing department.
IBM-PC Compatible running WindowsXP/Vista/7/8/8.1
Open a command prompt and execute the command
ipconfig /all > ipconfig.txt
Then email the file ipconfig.txt to PSE Licensing, as requested.
IBM-PC Compatible running Linux 64-bit
Open a terminal and execute the command
ifconfig > ifconfig.txt
Then email the file ipconfig.txt to PSE Licensing, as requested.
Alternatively, determine the MAC address of the machine's Ethernet card by a method of your choice and send it to PSE Licensing, as requested. Note that this must be an always-on physical Ethernet card and not a wireless (WLAN, BlueTooth) nor a Tunnel or Virtual Machine adapter.
